Aaloo Shimla Mirch (Potatoes and Bell pepper) with salt and black pepper

This is a super simple, quick and healthy recipe made with potatoes, and bell peppers. It’s fast to cook and tastes delicious.

Ingredients

  • 9 Potatoes small sized
  • 3 Green Bell peppers.
  • 2 Red Onions medium sized.
  • 4 Garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon Ginger, finely chopped
  • 1 Tea spoon Cumin seeds (Jeera)
  • 2 Tablespoons Mustard oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Soya sacuce
  • 1 Tablespoon Vinegar

Preparation

  • Boil the potatoes, peel them and chop them into big chunks.
  • Chop the Bell peppers into an inch sized square pieces.
  • Chop the onions into big square sized chunks measuring half an inch approximately.

Steps

  • Add 1 table spoon mustard oil in a pan and put it on a medium heat for 2 minutes.
  • Add cumin seeds (Jeera).
  • Add chopped ginger and garlic and saute it until garlic is changing its color.
  • Add chopped potatoes, and saute it for 5-7 minutes on a medium to high heat.
  • Take out the potatoes after a few minues and put them on a kitchen towel to drain out the extra oil.
  • Add remaining oil in the pan.
  • Add onions and bell peppers and saute it for a few minutes on a medium to high heat until the onions start changing color.
  • Add potatoes, salt and black pepper, and mix everything well.
  • Cover the pan with a lid and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Add soya sauce and vinegar and mix it well.
  • Turn off the heat and keep the pan covered with the lid for 5 minutes.
  • Open the lid and now its ready to eat.
